Big Buddha!

On our afternoon off from school, Joyce and Peter brought us to the Big Buddha statue. We spent the afternoon here looking at amazing architecture and designs. It was so interesting to learn about Buddhism and their beliefs through people who actually knew about it themselves. It was so much better than going ourselves and reading about everything there. I learned so many things about the religion that I did not know prior to this visit.
Thank you Peter and Joyce for going out of your way to take us to this amazing feature of Taiwan.

After visiting Big Buddha, Peter and Joyce treated us to a Korean Barbecue styled dinner. We were able to invite one of the students that lives in our apartments with us to join us in order to thank him for the help that he has given us with navigating, problem solving in the apartments, and communicating with the land lord. We were so happy he could join us, it was a really good time. The food and atmosphere was absolutely amazing. Three months ago you would have never found me eating any of these foods; now, I would go back in a heartbeat!
